The red dragon & Silence of the lambs (Hannibal lecter book)

Both titles have more similarities than differences, and "the red dragon" in spite of having a more interesting adversary than Silence of the Lamb still isn't interesting enough for those readers that came for hannibal, the character that name the series but that for some reason has a very, very limited participation in these two. In the red dragon, he doesn't even appear in fact. When I half way through the book and one of my predecessors told me that hannibal wouldn't really show up until the third book I was like, "My disappointment is incommensurable and my day is ruined", but trying hard to be fair with the book I'd say that Red dragon (the villain) reads a lot more fun than Buffalo Bill, the killer drag queen. Silence has a bit of an advantage in terms of the investigation that comes a little short in the first book and introduces the woman police officer character, whose name I'll never forget... What was it again? Candence? Clarice? It was something with C for sure. Anyway, pretty decent character. And Hanny gets more attention. I give both books an "average" rating because I like reading them, mostly anyway, but I wouldn't do it again even if my memory was wiped clean by Men in black. 5/10
