PR: Snow white turns out to be a mermaid or some similar mythological monster with the ability to hipnotize or otherwise subdue other to her will. Why she did not employ these alleged powers against the wicked queen is a question that does not concer Union of Gnomes. They seem to be more concerned in making unfunny weiner sex jokes and other (pardon my french) stupid shit that takes whatever idiot actually tried to read throught the text blocks completely out of immersion, if that word would even apply to plotlines like this.
Obviously, the idea of the game is that you rally gnomes from different imprisonments and make a last stand against snow white, though the success of such endevour seems dubious at the very least since she can literally control minds. Rebels in plots like these never seem to concern about silly things like "odds" or "strategies", or "relocation"... or well pretty much anything. Keep sending guys until we win!
Gameplay-wise Union of gnomes is much better, at least at first. The extension of the game far exceeds its capacity to stay fresh, and by mission two you pretty much get reduced to simply repeating the same process over and over again.
Each mission is like a level from a roguelite deckbuilder, and the reward for completion is one to three units, although sometimes it can be none. This means that you'll be using this tiny pool of units for twelve fights, maybe more, then slightly increase it with a new unit that might simply be a worse version of something you already had, like the Doctor, who heals a bit more than the Medic but inflicts a couple stacks of poison leaving the net heal earnings lower than the base unit, or even lower if the enemy is already inflicting poison.
The new champions, or heroes, or whatever the game calls them, don't sufficiently change the game style as an initial survey may lead you to believe, and while the second one you get that allows you to pay blood costs instead of energy has some really powerful combinations since the core is always spam heal it gets terribly repetitive as well.
Of course, the more you play the more these type of nuisances start to stack up... Leveling up the champions is very grindsome, the initial deck is very small, the unit upgrades are mostly bad, the blings meta are mostly bad, there's no card skipping, and those stupid dialogues really start to become cumbersome.
Conclusion, good for a couple runs, plummets rapidly afterwards.
