-A Trick of Perspective, Matt Dymerski- (Illuminati but they're insectoids instead of reptileans)

PR: When MC was lowning the poarch while listening to the birds and pretty much enjoying life, a sudden strageness seem to manifest itself in the air and (after a lot of focusing) he realizes that a tall insectoid with holes and other alien features was camouflaged as a tree.

Possible interpretation, but more holey and invisible

He looks intently at the thing and it skips away while changing shapes along the way, truck, birds, and other etceteras that must have been quite a show.

Then the MC starts making all sorts of "chilling" speculations about how "they" merge into our enviroment with some flimsy pseudo-scientifical excuses that couls be summarized as the the creatures squatting naked on a dark corner while murmuring "you can't see me..." and 99% of the population falls for it. (Legendary mechanic referece)

They have the ability of standing so absolutly still thst they become invisible...The MC then does a few  more incursions and realizes the beings surgically modify humans or make them dissapear based on some sort of database they've collected, but doesn't know in what they modify us or why they make us dissapear. In fact, after being find out the being pretty much play cat and mouse with him and ultimatly let him go while making it clear they could've killed him instead.

Personally I wasn't a fan of this story, again the topic of the alien-like creatures experimening on us has become a trope too common, and honestly I'm seeing a pattern here. I KIND of want to believe these people started the trope in some cases but in this one I'm 100% absolutly sure it was cliché way before 201X when this was posted 5/10
